Highland Kilt Connections are a highland wear chain that offer a wide range of kilt outfits for hire as well as bespoke made to measure. They required a website that would provide a new online home for their brand and showcase their extensive range of exclusive tartans.
The product pages feature a slideshow of images for each tartan. The slideshow also features thumbnails, which allows the user to preview additional images for each outfit.
The Made to Measure page uses a tabbed design to showcase the main steps of the Made to Measure process. This allows users to understand the benefits of made to measure in manageable amounts of information.
The Stores page features a list of stores as well as a dropdown. This is so the user has easy access to all the stores as the company grows and more stores open.
The typeface used on the website is Verdana, which is used for body text and headings. This is because Verdana is sans serif and makes large blocks of text easier to read.
The colours scheme is predominantly black and white as this adds class to the website and builds up the trust of the customer. Red is introduced in button and element active states, as this ties in with the colours of the company logo.
The project was wireframed using Balsamiq and the project was designed using Sketch for Mac and synced with Invision.
The project makes use of Cloudflare CDN as it allows page speed to be improved and assets to be optimised.
The website was built using WordPress and makes use of ACF Pro and Yoast as the main plugins.
HTML, CSS, JQuery, PHP, WordPress, Photoshop, Sketch and Cloudflare.
